I'm Chelsea and I'm from OH. I just wanted to introduce myself and my Haffie. Riley is a 6 year old Haflinger mare who I've owned for about a month. I bought her pretty much sight unseen from a horse trader who was a friend of a friend. I did go to look at her first but had made up my mind before I even got there. Anyways.. Riley currently knows NOTHING (ie doesn't tie, doesn't pick up her feet, bolts when you lead her, etc) and is well.. quite the hand full. But I absolutely love her and cannot wait to start working with her more seriously. I plan to do mostly dressage with her, and eventually some eventing as well. And lots of trail riding.. hopefully we can work through the bolting and it wont become an issue under saddle. Aside from Riley, I also have a pinto pony mare named Lola, and a BS paint mare named Maggie.
My roomies having decided that Country Life (TM) is not for them, they've sold their horses and moved to town. So poor Lissa was left without a pasture mate. Fortuitously, my tax return came in and well...( What better to spend part of it on than a horse?Collapse )
No photos under there, just cut for dramatic effect. :P

I took more pics of my two new ponies, these ones are much better than the first ones i took cause it wasnt such a crappy day the last couple days. I hope you don't mind but I posted some pics of my nonequine babies aswell.
Question for Hackney owners or people that have worked with them. Tommy has a really adorable head bobbing that he does when I lead him around. Is that a hackney trait or is it just because hes not yet trained. Hes a silly boy too, so he may just be being silly!
Warning ~ Alot of pics! X-Posted to several places! Cuteness overload!( PicsCollapse )
Gratuitous squee post
My haflinger mare had her foal this morning between morning feeding at 8:50 and noon when I went out to check here in a break from writing. Evil wench had NO signs of labor at 8:50 but the foal was nearly dry when I discovered her.
So, happy birthday to Lissa's baby, as of yet unnamed L-girl. :D She's a very pale haflinger who looks a lot like her half sister Sage and not at all like her brother Parsley, who is dark like Lissa.
Pictures soon. SO cute. Iiiiiitttty bitty hooves. Current Mood: enthralled
It's lonely around here :( Current Mood: lonely
